SUNSHINE, KIDS AND SMILES
The ANNUAL REGION 3 PICNIC was another success . Held on Saturday Aug 13th, the event was a fun filled family day of socializing, children’s entertainment and food!
The weather co-operated and delivered a beautiful warm and mostly sunny day. The event was held at Emily Provincial Park near the quaint town of Omeemee.
The children were treated to a dinosuar egg hunt, sack races, jumping castles, face painting , games and entertainment.
The Puppet Tamer provided an abundance of laughs while thrilling the crowd with acts of juggling , unicycle, ventriloquism and other antics. Perhaps the adults enjoyed the act as much if not more than the children!
A terrific array of barbecue favourites was served up thanks to the volunteers who helped organize the event. Attendees topped off their day with cake and watermelon.
Region 3 raffled off 4 bicycles and several other gifts to the happy winners. Braven Jolley ,Abigail Mandar ,Harry Walker, Michelle Philips.
The Annual Rregion 3 Picnic is a free event, open to all region 3 members, their family and friends. It is a positive reminder of what our unions provide. We will continue to hold this wonderful event and hope to see an even bigger crowd next year!
We would like to thank the picnic committee…Ken Hord, Judith Richardson, Tim Hannah, Cindy Hayes-Wright, Stacey Tomblin, and everyone else who pitched in to assist. We would also like to acknowledge the hospitality of the park staff from local 362.
