The North Simcoe Riding Association of the NDP gathered on September 22nd in Penetanguishene to attend a NDP fundraising cruise aboard the Georgian Queen.
Simcoe North NDP riding president and former OPSEU Region 3 EBM, Doris Middelton was the master of ceremonies for the 3 hour cruise that featured Ontario NDP leader, Andrea Horwath, the local folk band, ALEX and a great selection of finger foods and refreshments that included locally produced items.
Andrea Horwath was enthusiastically greeted by the crowd and spoke appreciatively of OPSEU support during the recent Kitchener Waterloo by-election. She specifically remarked that OPSEU’s Central Political Action Committee and the support of the OPSEU Executive Board and member volunteers helped to turn the tide in the riding that clearly decided that the Liberals would not be granted a majority government in Ontario.
On behalf of the Simcoe North NDP Riding Association, Doris Middleton thanked the significant group of OPSEU Region 3 members and retirees who supported the event.
